But... HORSE is a apposed to be fun and humorous, not sad and serious. If this band was serious, I would have given up listening to this years ago.

Come on dude, there is a song on this album called "Sex Raptor", don't be a dipshit, this band isn't serious in the least. If they were, I would have never liked them at all. This Message Edited On 08.07.08

Great album by HORSE, picked it up after I saw them opening for BtBaM. The point of reviews is to be objective (i've never written one) so it's not wise to admit being a fanboy. Also, I always fast-forward through TbT reviews as they are way too long. This album represents a big step forward for HtB in the music and maturity department. Novelty or not, they have a unique sound and great personality, but I agree that they could do without the filler. NOTE: new drummer just got arrested. $3000 for bail on a weed charge? Maybe they were trafficking immigrants too to make money on the tour....

tl;dr  But I'll definitely check them out. Sky Eats Airplane is a fetish of mine currently, so they'll fit ;)

I Don't think songs like Crickets are trying to be humorous, it's more like trying to be ridiculously epic, and nothing in this album is better than when crickets fades into New York City. Also, i agree with you, "I Think We Are Both Suffering From The Same Crushing Metaphysical Crisis is probably the best HORSE song ever. Also Lif i think is really epic aswell, it blends all the elements from the album as like a culmination of everything that has come so far in A Natural Death.

I really wish this album had without the filler, The Beach, Crickets, Broken Trail, Rotting Horse, and maybe even Kangarooster Meadows, were so unnecessary, this could be a 4 for me without those tracks.
