A metalcore album isn't gonna be the most brutal album of all time. Not even of 21st century. Not even of this month,
this rubbish isn't good metalcore, but it's not like playing metalcore is a bad thing. :/This Message Edited On 11.05.07

Emmure are pretty good metalcore/deathcore.
brutality at its best.

"It is definetly the most brutal release of the 21st century, if not all time."
Worst review i have ever read on sputnik

This album sucks, tons more than Beneath the Sky's What Demons Do to Saints-which i thought was going to be this year's nadir.

quite honestly, by no means do i think that this album is "deathcore" in any way...
if u want "deathcore" then check out Glass Casket, or Through The Eyes of the Dead... Emmure does not qualify

in my personal opinion, Emmure falls under the category of todays Hardcore scene...
bands such as Bury Your Dead, Recon, xDeathstarx, and Too Pure to Die are all examples of what todays Hardcore genre is becoming...
and that is, EXTREMELY down tuned guitars, catchy but otherwise very cheap breakdowns, and the grooviness in their music for twostep shit...

dont get me wrong, Emmure is the shit i think
the mixture of their down tuned guitars in unison, their slow breakdowns with nearly banshee life screams really prove their worth

im jus sayin that i seriously dont think they should be "deathcore"
my opinion

Through The Eyes Of The Dead isn't deathcore.

Emmure is deathcore though. They are not modern hardcore.

Here is some modern hardcore:

Let's not make this into another genre identity fiasco.

I actually own this CD and it's honestly one of my favorite cd's I own.

Has anyone read their lyrics?
Personally I think they're some of the best in the buisness.

their lyrics are really heartfelt for a band as intense as emmure... but they kinda follow the same lyrical pattern as all the other victory records... HATE MY LIFE, CRY TO BAYSIDE... although hearing it from emmure is pretty intense lol

This is the thing that pisses me the hell off with hardcore/deathcore/metalcore music. Everyone has to complain and B***h about who is the heaviest and who is better.

"dude this band is pretty heavy, just listen to the breakdowns"

"OH MY GOD ARE YOU AN IDIOT! THIS IS EMO CRAP BLAH BLAH BLAH LISTEN TO THIS BAND THEIR SO HEAVY BLAH BLAH BLAH! LISTEN TO TRUE METAL FAG!!!!"

Just shut the hell up. What the f**k is the point in going to look at a band you don't even like to just you can voice an opinion nobody wants to hear. Go talk about the music you like with OTHER PEOPLE WHO LIKE IT.

As for the album, i like it. I think it's pretty good. It does have SOME unnecessary parts (especially the instrumental, WTF WHAT UP WITH THAT?!) As for the music. Perfectly produced. Drumming is great. Guitaring is typical. Vocals are actually pretty good. Lyrics are good. Although...dude...

"It is definetly the most brutal release of the 21st century, if not all time."

I wouldn't go that far. Lol. Their can be some pretty intense shit out there.

Yeah the lyrics are very heartfelt and I really want to know what happened to the singer to make him wright those lyrics. The lyrics have gotten me through some tough days.
