Wizard, this album has hardly any breakdowns. And if you are implying that it is metalcore because of the breakdowns, then I guess Pantera are metalcore too. And yes, I am the enforcer of good behavior. You are deducted 2 "nice" points. haha

EDIT: Apparently it is too late, Crimson. lolThis Message Edited On 10.31.07

The metalcore arguments are futile because they're sparked by people who've never actually been exposed to hardcore .

then I guess Pantera are metalcore

Coke, I was being sarcastic with the Pantera comment. I was pointing out what Shadows said about breakdowns.

My exposure to hardcore is broad, but I'm guessing since there are a few people disagreeing with me that my interpretations of metalcore are wrong. I guess the reviewer stating that these guys are metalcore might have put me off in the wrong direction.

"the same name from Southern California metalcore newcomers Avenged Sevenfold."

My apologies for starting an argument that I have spoken out against in the past.

deathtotheinfidels, how do I get my nice points back ya hypocrite? hahahaha

I was agreeing. I was saying that if breakdowns = metalcore, than those bands are also metalcore.

Well, their first album was metalcore. This one, er, not so much.

I wasn't referring to you in saying that most arguers were inept to talk about hardcore, I was just stating a general idea. Don't sweat it. I still don't see much 'core in this.

I was kidding. I was just saying that because Ive seen you rip some kids apart in other forums. Thats not a very nice thing to do, especially if its just an opinion (now I sound like a hypocrite myself hahaha)! Soooo how do I get my nice points back?

Coke, I was actaully getting ready to be ripped apart by you hahahaha! This Message Edited On 10.31.07

Uuuuuuum, let's see, nice points.....

You can admit M. Shadows looks sexy with those platinum grills on his incisors?

I would respect Avenged more if they didn't seem like such giant douches.

I'll admit, CoE had some good riffs. I used to listen to this when I was discovering more metal but it just became so blah.

I don't think Christ played bass on this album...or maybe he did...ah bass players, they're all the same guy in the end eh (or not there at all)?

But yea, doesn't deserve a 5/5. 5s are reserved for those albums that stand the test of time. If people are still rating WtF a perfect album say..at least 5 years from now, then it'll be classic, until then it's just a 4 or a 4.5 imo.

And I really can't believe you just cast off "I Won't See You Tonight" in a single sentence. THAT'S THE CENTERPIECE OF THE ENTIRE FLIPPING ALBUM!!! And I've said it before and I'll say it again, Second Heartbeat is extremelt overrated and is 2 minutes longer than it ever should have been.

Second Heartbeat is god. The solo at the end is the best part of the song.
