I never understood the hate for this one at all. I get that COLD LAKE was a step too far in the wrong direction for the old fans, but VANITY/NEMESIS is much more aggressive. I love the production and the more nuanced approach to the songwriting. The first three songs are definitely stand outs, but I also dig "Restless Seas". This one deserves a fair shake.

This wasn't terrible but I probably won't come back to it often. It's just so far removed from their early work and Monotheist in terms of badassery.
