Thrash is pretty much dead.

Black metal is also overrated. But that's mainly because I can't stand the pig squeal vocals.
Thrash is better than black metal.
|
| |
.........
there has never been a black metal band that has used pig squeals. Go find one.

Em, pig squeels in black metal? Look again buddy.
|

the dude obviously has a low metal iq
and I do agree kalle, thrash is pretty much dead/dying. It was really, really important in the development of extreme metal in general but ideas to expand it have run dry.

Yeah it was, from there that pretty much went straight into black metal/swedish death metal and so forth

Thrash is pretty much dead.
Nocturnal Breed, Evile, Bonded by Blood, Violator, Ghoul, Skeletonwitch, and countless others think otherwise.
Not to mention bands like Sodom, Kreator, Slayer, and Exodus who continue to pump out quality stuff.
And I don't know what you guys are smoking, but thrash was innovative for like, a year. It's been the same for so long and that's what it makes so fucking awesome. This Message Edited On 10.30.07

I wasn't aware Ghoul was considered thrash.
And it's not to say that all thrash is garbage now, it's just that there really is no room for innovation left.

Bonded by Blood came out like 20 years ago. None of the bands you mentioned have really recreated the original thrash sound, nor anything that comes close to the quality of 'Bonded By Blood' for such matters. It's a genre that was bound to die tbh.

There was no room for innovation after about 1988.
Hey Kal, Sodom's M-16 shits and pisses all over Bonded by Blood. True fact. This Message Edited On 10.30.07

I haven't heard that album, but it's supposedly pretty good. Still, 2001.

Go get Nocturnal Breed's latest, "Fields of Rot" (2007), Ghoul's "Splatterthrash" (2005 I believe), and Evile's "Enter the Grave" (2006). Those three will cause you to take back what you said about thrash being dead and then I'll forgive you and we will hold hands once more. This Message Edited On 10.30.07

Amen to that South. Any kind of thrash (almost) will rape and eat that repetitive bullsh*t album.

You got that right, Bedlam is a f*cking thrash mayhem. It sounds kinda familiar to 44. Magnum Opus.

A 4/5 should do the trick. Great album, the only things I don't enjoy is ''A Call To Arms'' and a few intros here and there.
