Really not that good about the same as AWTEW. The singer just is too grating for me, if he sang in a bit lower then I would probably like this but for now its really just average pop-punky post hardcore.
What? I think it has a completely different sound then alls well that ends well.
Not really. They're still playing in the only key they've ever written a song in. (anyone who has moderate skill in playing piano, try to decipher their keyboard parts for yourself. it should take no longer than 5 minutes when you realize there are literally three chords that they just arpeggiate.) Just because he tries some "new vocal techniques" and their songs are more "epic" doesn't mean this sounds any different. They just learned dynamics, but that doesn't save the cd. I'm overly harsh on these guys too.

Ummm. Yeah. It does.

I was a little too critical when I first listened to this cd. Tbh it sounds like a mixture of their early stuff with P!ATD and the newest Used record. Its not bad, but its not truly outstanding. And the fact that they break into ballad ness every minute is annoying.

This and the new TREOS have been pretty big letdowns for me.

Its definitely not great but its better than their old stuff, maybe...

Well, I think it's better than the heartless control everything... but alls well that ends well is better than this to me. I do really like the first track on this though. It's been stuck in my head all day.

AWTEW lost its effect on me after a week or so and i really don't even care for it anymore. It's pretty straightforwardly standard. This isn't that bad. Probably a 3. I dunno yet.

Well I still need to give this more time. I got Sky Eats Airplanes Everything Perfect on the Wrong Day at the same time, and so far I'm really digging that. I'm also still stuck on Kezia, so after a couple of songs off bone palace i've been switching to either pth or sea.

Eh. I don't agree it's better, but I feel you on that variety part. Seems like after the third song the tracks sort of just blend together. The only three songs I've actually put on repeat is the first one, teeth the size of piano keys or whatever, and the undertakers thirst for revenge whereas I'd listen to Alls Well over and over and over.

the sweep on "Lexington" is so bad.

Good review, although "Intensity in Ten Cities" is my favorite track on the album. I grew up listening to these guys (I live 15 minutes from their hometown) and they have always been my favorite band, so my opinion is pretty biased, but I feel that they have matured a lot since their previous release. Even when they play their old stuff live it sounds better than it used too. I especially love the darker feel to the album.

It annoys me that people judge Chiodos as "just another pop-punk band" or they say that they have "no originality"
Chiodos don't follow traditional song structures, they have very different, creative instrumentals, and a singer whom I doubt you've heard anything like before.
I LOVED this album. Not quite as good as All's Well, and it could use a little more screaming, but it's amazing.
Reminds me of the new The Used album. but...GOOD.

I think this is original...I can't recall any bands that sound like Chiodos.

Yeah I can't recall many bands that are this bad either.
