This is one of my favorite Miles Davis cd's, along with Kind of Blue. All I've heard is those two, Birth of the Cool, and Bitches Brew, so my opinion doesn't mean much, though.

I have Best of Blue Note/Capital Years, Kind of Blue, and Bitches Brew. I'm getting this one.
I beat everyone with getting Bitches Brew for free :D. My sister gave it to me.

Far and away the best album from Miles's best line up. I will even go as far as say it's his best album, period.
Almost all of the albums featuring the "second great quintet" are absolutely mindblowing, but Miles Smiles is definitely the one that everyone should own.

This album is awesome even though the cover sucks. He's barely smiling.

I love this album. Harmonically, it reminds me of eric dolphy. I think you should check out his albums out for lunch and out there if you like this one.

along with e.s.p. it's the best album delivered by the second great quintet; if you've just started listening to miles and bought kind of blue(which is the most obvious choice for beginners) this is the next release you should get; but, to say sincerely, it'd be hard for me to point out any weaker album from that period;the only one i never got convinced to is sorcerer that rarely catches fire... but it's just my opinion

There is a lot of variety here. Both in tempo and solos, but in the end, nothing is catchy enough to put this album on the Essential Miles list.
Best Song? I donΒ΄t know.. maybe, ππ°π°π΅π±π³πͺπ―π΅π΄ ?

discog walk: classy musicians with Miles. Wayne Shorter, sublime on tenor saxophone & Herbie Hancock on piano, one word, virtuoso. Ron Carter bassist is slicky good.
Highlights: "Dolores/Freedom Jazz Dance/Gingerbread Boy", trio of almost perfect pieces
Will please any jazz enthusiasts or music lover in general. Brilliant LP. 4.8/5
