Incarnated Solvent Abuse is a sick song. It sort of paved the way for modern day guitar squeals in Death Metal. I don't know why, but I think it sounds like what Pinch would have sounded like in the late 80's early 90's.This Message Edited On 06.25.07

My fav' Carcass album!!!

So, why do we consider this grindcore again? I personally don't think it sounds anything like anything but Death Metal.
|

No, Carcass is considered Death Metal and Grindcore. Look it up.This Message Edited On 05.21.07

They're considered Death Metal and Grind because they have Death Metal albums (from this album on) and Grind albums (before this album).
This is to bassplayer by the way.
edit: Read this one too, then you'll actually be right when you condescend people

And I Still question why they are considered Grindcore, considering that Heartwork is considered one of the Pioneers of Melodic Death Metal. This Message Edited On 05.21.07

Once again you're a fucking idiot. This album on = Death Metal
Before this album = Grind.
Jesus fucking Christ.

I'm not talking about just the friggin album Genius, I'm talking about the band as a whole. If you actually read my posts before you rant on them , maybe you would understand that. I understand wholly what they sounded like before this album ,and I understand wholly what they sounded like after this album. After this is without a doubt not grind, so why are they still thought of as grind?
And honestly, you say some of the most stupid, senseless things. This Message Edited On 05.21.07

They're not still thought of as a grind band. They're thought of as a Death Metal band that started out as a Grind band.
|
| |
Ok. See how it works when we relax? I've read articles that still call them a Grindcore band, and I find them quite innaccurate.
|
| |
That's because a lot of people who consider themselves fans of their grind era don't consider their death metal era. It depends on the context.

I finally got this today, and so far it's a 4, but I havn't given it any soak time, so it's likely to go up.

This album is brutal.

This is my favorite carcass album, but Heartwork is right behind it. Corporal Jigsore and Lavaging are classic songs that I will never stop enjoying.

great review and album. Corporal Jigsore indeed is one of the best metal tracks.
Btw, a bit off-topic but anyone else think Jesse leach(from Seemless) screams sounds a lot like Jeff's?

Every metal fan should have heard this album. This was ground breaking, this lead to the astounding Heartwork, which led to melodic death metal, which led to Screamo. All you emo kiddies need to blast this through your speakers before you really appreciate any metal.

I think this is the only album I've heard where every single riff is great or better. You gave Incarnated Solvent Abuse too low of a rating though, considering it has the greatest riff of all time.

I think this could use a new review. I think that'll be my next conquest.

hahahah never saw those hbp comments before

2.5? That's harsh, why so low? The only real problem I have with the album is that it's way longer than it needs to be.
