This is, in my opinion, the best ska album ever.

Fucking classic album. Blows Streetlight away. I dunno, Streetlight kinda sucks, in my opinion. I heard Everything Went Numb and was like, "This is Catch, but better!" Then I heard the rest and it was mediocre as hell.
BOTAR>Catch>Streetlight

How you can find Streetlight to be worse than this is just absolutely beyond my comprehension on every level and leads me to believe you like to listen to worse music for credibilities sake.

yea, even my little likes this album - its about the only good album she likes. i am surprised however that nobody has mentioned the Streetlight re-recording of this album which blows away the original.
I think Keasbey Nights and Everything Goes Numb are both amazing records in their own ways and the feeling and emotions carried in them make it impossible to compare directly.
review was ok.

Album is so ****ing overrated. Streetlight's debut owns this on every conceivable level.
Both are basically all Tomas Kalnoky so I don't understand why you have to compare them. Keasbey Nights is the best third wave ska album, with Everything Goes Numb in a tight second. The production is what actually makes this album so lovable IMO.This Message Edited On 06.19.07

you have to end it with
If you dont like the production on this one than chances are you like Streetlight's re-release more. But for me I like the production more on this one. The Streetlight version sounds way too weird and it's probably something about the mixing that bothers me.
There are really only like, 4 or 5 good ska bands tops.
I hope that you're only talking about 3rd wave ska.

Good review.

This album is a great listen. Definitely not overrated because it's so much fun and full of energy.

being "overrated" and being "fun and full of energy" have nothing to do with one another. So yeah...check up overrated in a dictionary when you get a chance.
|
| |
Being fun and full of energy is what makes this album so great for me. That the album is great is what justifies my opinion for it being not overated. Sooooo go pound sand.

I don't think it's overrated cause here we are 9 years later and still talkin about it. If it was overrated, the hype would have died down like 8 years ago.

No. That is like the definition of overrated. People jizz over an album for an absurdly long time when it's been blown away by other things after it. It's like beating off over the first Neurosis EP when they have far surpassed it with their future work.
|
| |
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's overrated. You just have a different opinion about it. PS I'll try not to double post this time.

Joe makes a good point. He's provided a decent argument (throughout this commenting thread) about why he thinks it's overrated, though many disagree as seen by the rating. It doesn't simply seem that he "doesn't like it."

When you do a review for an album that is a 4.5-5 or a 1-2, expect that there will be arguments about opinions in it. Don't piss and moan, it's happened to everyone.
On that note, I was stating that it's overrated in my opinion. Being overrated is an opinion and thus cannot be wrong. It's classic in your opinion and not in mine. Get over yourself. This Message Edited On 06.19.07
