This album was a great way to get back on track after In Loved and Death which was real bad. Their first album stills kick the rests ass though, but now that they are back on track I think they can do something as good or better than their first album with their next release.

"Smother Me" makes me sick too. I love the chorus to "paralyzed" it feels so spaztastic. "Liar Liar (Burn in hell)" is also one of my favorites. I think it drops the f-bomb more than any of thier othe songs, I love to crank it up whenever I play the CD to piss off my mom. She hates the song.

It's a shame though because I've always loved The Used and this album was just like "Wow." Their first album was angry and gritty. At least compared to the following two. This album is too sappy and lovey dovey for me. With the exception of a few songs, I was dissapointed in them. I found all the bonus tracks online and a bunch were better then what they put on the CD. Go figure.

the album could have been and definitely should have been better.
they need to go back to their very first album where all the music actually meant something instead of this poppy sort of feel they seem to be going for in this album.

where is tom cruise when you need him?!?!

this album has a few good songs but the b-side track Pain is worlds better than anything else here. best song they've done period.

Buried Myself Alive takes that title.

i guess if you like their softer, more melodic side, Buried Myself Alive is pretty good. but it just sounds too Hawthorne Heights/Story of the Year to me. and have you actually heard Pain? it really is killer...it makes Buried Myself Alive sound really weak. This Message Edited On 10.27.08

Pain is indeed awesome. But Buried Myself Alive is better.
This is their worst album...

I really like the bird and the worm, is the rest of the album similar?

Yes and no. That's possibly the weirdest song on the album so there's nothing as tripped out as that one. But that song does exemplify their brand of sickly, dark pop-punk.
Plus, if you don't already have their s/t, get that instead. It's worlds better.

Yeah I don't have any of the bands stuff, so I'll just see how it goes.

the first one is the best to start with so you can have a positive foundation for the band

Start with a positive foundation?
Lol, before I come to a completely negative standpoint on the band?

Lol I concur. I think In Love and Death is pretty good, actually, but most would disagree. Start with the first one and if you like get them in order.
