I would kind of agree with this rating if it didn't have the impact that it has had. Technically its very repetitive.

queue the soh11 freakout.
I don't really give a fuck, and I didn't even read the review. It probably says something like "it's too repetitive and the lyrics make me laugh".This Message Edited On 06.12.07

A good review, but I think this is one of the few classic albums out there where repeditiveness is acceptable. If it wasnt, people wouldnt hold this album in such high regard next to every other metal album.

I read it. It offered nothing new in the way of arguements against this album/band, but it was well-written.

I'd have to say I actually like the songs from SITA and SOH more than the weaker tracks on here...
But Angel of Death, Jesus Saves, Postmortem and Raining Blood own.
In fact, the 'slay' completely! :p

My response to "is it really bad" would be to suggest that you just turn the cd case over. The band picture speaks for itself, to me. I think you took the ego that comes with this band too seriously. Admittedly, I did as well. Yet there are tons more bands out there that try much harder to be evil -- Slayer was simply one of the earliest examples. Yet why do people still listen to this 20 years later? I think there is something in Raining Blood. Angel of Death also sticks out to me. But more or less I agree with your premise -- yet also feel as if I look at it from the view of accepting that it isn't of the legendary proportions that it was 22 years ago.

Wait a second, you were devastated by Blink 182's breakup and you don't like this album? There's a no brainer.

I used to hate this album, glad I listened to it 5 times yesterday again. This album rules.

This is one of my favourite albums. I disagree with the rating, but the review is well written

Never really got the appeal of these guys.

Good review, despite the fact that I totally love this album, and that I strongly disagree with you, in almost everything, but I respect your opinion. By the way, Blink 182 sucks sweaty balls like no other

Still prefer to listen to Slayer though, especially now that Summer's over (not that it ever really began here where I live)

i don't agree with your lyric standpoint, i mean there genius, but of course there repetitiveness gets annoying, but that changes in SoH/seasons. but this is by far there best album, hell awaits and seasons are very close behind but this is pretty damn beastly, and there better than the mainstream metallica or Dave vocals in megadeth
