"No Mr. Fripp, I only borrowed one of your solos! I swear I'll return it. Plz don't tell my parents!"

i am a little confused. you just bashed the mars volta saying amputechture sucked. then you bring up a totally different point and say that it is a rip off of king crimson. wouldnt that make it good? or are you saying you dont like king crimson either? i am having trouble following you inconsistent logic. your entitled to your own opinion but at least be consistent.

no, i think you misunderstood me. i am in no way justifying their apparent plagiarisms of King Crimson. i am just saying that you cant just say "it sucks" and then go on to accuse them of "ripping off King Crimson". It doesn't make sense. and it sounds like you are just trying to find things to rip on them for instead of critiquing the actual music.

Pointing out something the band ripped off shows unorigionality which IS critiquing the music.

No. I've never heard the album. I've only heard Frances The Mute and it bored me to death so I never checked out anything else by them. I was just speaking on general terms.

It's more Omar's guitar style and the overuse of tritones and augmented intervals. Fripp did that too.

there's one specific solo from a crimson album which i think is on the starless and bible black album which is pretty much copied on one of the songs on deloused vaggue!!

There are bands/artists that are still doing original things. It just takes longer to figure it out or to find them.

Hiding in caves and whatnot.

And about the 5/5 ratings, I haven't heard this album yet, but i doubt it's a classic... so i am gonna give it a go to see if i like it or not.

Lets hope he never parts Mars Volta because this just doesn't work the same.

This album is kind of a let down but i do enjoy a couple of the songs, I guess his solo

projects are more of his spanish roots showing and him experimenting with simpler,

less chaotic songs. (Ive listend to his songs a bit more and changed my mind.. next

comment better expresses it.)This Message Edited On 09.08.07

I found the recording of Rapid fire Tollbooth to be okay, i didn't ever get a good listen of a boot leg but i really liked the guitar work on alot of songs. Especially how he made Se Dice Bistone, No Bufalo and how it just comes in with a wall of sound and then dies down again with the simple piano riff. So i give him props for his efforts but i swear Manual Dexterity is better.

I liked this a surprisingly good deal...i found taking it in as a whole made it more impressive and can see this becoming a 4...I like Rapid Fire Tollbooth better than the opening of Goliath and Please Heat This Eventually is the shiz...yumminess
