your right but a lot of people still do.bands like these are ruining melodeath's reputation and I think this is all In flames' fault.there are too many bands out there playing this modern in flames influenced "melodeath" and that's the main problem.they don't realize in flames isn't melodeath anymore and so whilst being metalcore they still call themselves melodeath

Balls.. you just said they ARE NOT melodeath... yet scar symmetry...IS. So obviously they ARE different styles of metal. So stop changing what you say.
Sonic Syndicate basically is commercialized metalcore. and no, they do not sound alike... rofl..
they dont even have similar singing. sonic syndicate has very weak "harsh" vocals and they sound very "emocore" lol.
Scar Symmetry is in a league of its own. A MUCH better band.

Did I say anything about Scar Symmetry or did I even call Scar Symmetry melo death? No. Read what i said, although Scar Symmetry have more death metal traits found in the guttural vocals and such, i'm hesitant to call them that because their sound is too hard to pin down and label. Sonic Syndicate and Blinded Colony play a very similar style of music, Blinded Colony just do it a hell of alot better though. This Message Edited On 11.04.08

Scar Symmetry is usually classified as progressive death metal (or progressive melodeath). I agree, Blinded Colony do it way better than Sonic Syndicate...

Blinded Colony is like a quality Sonic Syndicate (before they sold out). This album is much better even than Eden Fire. Blinded Colony, however, is mistaken about calling themselves melodic death metal. Well, maybe they still are, but the methods they use make their music sound more like alt metal or metalcore (mainly because of the harsh vocal choice). It's like Woe of Tyrants being labeled as deathcore, even though they're still pure melodeath - the only problem being their snares and guitar distortion having a deathcore sound.

This album slays so fucking hard. Pretty interesting that the singer moved on to producing pop music like fucking outrageously successfully. Too bad. He made some kickass music on this.

I like how Shellback was the vocalist for this group. To me, these guys sound quite a bit like Mnemic, and that's cool IMO. Both bands aren't very original with this musical style, although I can dig it as long as the brain gets turned off. Once Bitten, Twice Shy is so good, man.

Can't believe the vocalist for this band has written nearly every top pop song from american artists in the past 5 years.

yea, it's hard to believe the vocalist for this band is the same guy that co-wrote/produced Maroon 5's Animals lol.
