Here Comes the Night is amazing

my biggest gripe with it is the Stevie cover, it's just a giant failure

"hm...I'd say it's their weakest album from their classic period from Today! to Surf's Up. What makes you like it so much?"

23 minutes of concise pop songs though Mama Says is a horrible closer

I beg to differ on the idea of Friends being boring and Anna Lee, album is chill as fuck. Only problem I have with the lo-fi period (Smiley Smile/Wild Honey/Friends) is that a decent portion of the songs on all three feel very underdeveloped, even the ones I like a lot feel like there could be more to it. The longer version of Transcendental Meditation and Meant For You on the Made in California box set are far better than the ones we got on Friends.

I thought that the underdevelopment on Smiley Smile gave it a really nice minimalistic feel, honestly if more albums were like Smiley Smile the world would be a more Ars kind of place.

Mama Says is just a snippet from Vegetables so yeah kinda pointless more than anything. Here Comes the Night is okay but a little irritating. I think their vocals are poorly recorded and while its cool in Smiley it just doesn't work here.

Are you crazy? Here Comes the Night is easily the best track on there.

There's a 70s disco version of it that's 11 minutes long that's literally torture though... but that original 2 minute one is wonderful

the disco one is alright, but it really didn't need to be made and just shows how desperate the band were struggling to be relevant aside from being another oldies touring band.

Seriously though, it's even worse than Rush rapping on Roll the Bones. Sadly we have a bunch of morons here that defend that just cause it's Rush haha

It makes me sad Bruce Johnston has been Mike's little lackey as of late.
