"Far Cry" and "The Larger Bowl" contain some of the strongest melodies they've come up with in a while, although the chorus of "The Larger Bowl" is a little clumsy ("such a lot of pain on the earth").
Overall, a bit overlong, and we don't really need three instrumentals on one album, but this is their best album in a good 20 years. "Spindrift" and "Malignant Narcissism" are fantastic.

Great album for a band this old. Armor and Sword is an excellent song.

Rush = best live show ever. Even though they're pretty much a bunch of oldies, they still got it.

Snakes and Arrows is pretty middle of the road as far has Rush albums go. It has a few good tracks (Far Cry/Spin Drift)
One real wonderful standout track the instrumental "Malignant Narcissism" is rush at its best. The problem is, there is a little to much sub par filler.
On a high note....Much better than "Vapour Trails".

Snakes & Arrows was an alright album, one of my least fav Rush albums. It just doesn't live up to some of their best stuff

I think this album is kind of underrated. I think it's probably their best since Moving Pictures and better than their first three as well.

I love this album.

I am a little bit disapointed, that they have not continued with their experimental approach as on Vapor Trails album. Snakes and Arrows is an excellent album anyway.

Armor and Sword's drum intro could easily lead into a tremendous breakdown.

Not dissapointing in the least. Really great album, one of Rush's best.

Horrible review.
Thanks for the stereotypes.

This album is musically fantastic as we'd expect from Rush, and has some nice songs and melodies, but Peart's songwriting is just grating here. The pop-atheism is so heavy-handed you can almost feel Peart trying to beat you over the head with a Dawkins tome. There's no doubt that he's a fantastic drummer but anytime he starts commenting on politics or religion I just start groaning. Wish he'd stick with sci-fi epics (where it's fine to be over-the-top) and more relateable everyday life themes (which keeps his blatant writing in check.)
