I've just got this CD today and I really enjoyed my first listening, and it gets better with every time I listen to it.
I really like The Bad Thing, the verses with just Alex' voice and the bass are great.

Anything that charts as a single is not an EP, whether it calls itself an EP or not. And for some reason Arctic Monkeys keep calling their singles EPs. Sorry about that i see. thanks

Definetely not dissapointing.. :
This is the way Arctic Monkeys sounded before 2006.. just... it's not dissapointing.

I don't want to be nitpicking, but it isn't it supposed to be spelled "Favorite Worst Nightmare"? (I don't mean the review but the actual album) or are both possible?

Quiet you. Iai you gotta put Balaclava in there surely, it's easily my favourite from the album at the moment. Probably that and The Bad Thing.

This album is better than the first. There's so much more depth and layering to the songs.
Each song stands alone, while the debut has quite a few throw-away tracks.

Good album, slightly worse than their first in my opinion. I think the new bassist is a huge dissapointment. Comparitively, he's far less groovy, less dance-inspired. This House is a Circus, 505, and Old Yellow Bricks are personal favourites.

A good, catchy album. alex turner is one of the best lyricists i have heard and the fact that this band is british makes it even better.

Yeah, I find these guys pretty annoying too. I'm not much of an inide buff however. This Message Edited On 01.24.08

if only they could make a song as catchy as flourescent adolescent again. The song was good enough to boost my score by an entire 1.0
I always have to look at british royalty while listening to this album though...

I've only listened to the first 4 songs and its already way better than their debut. They still haven't tapped their full potential yet. As you said, the album feels rushed. If they'd spent even a little bit more time on it and made it tighter and more cohesive, it would have been phenomenal.
