What a fantastic album. Better than Deadwing because this album has no filler.

So I've been listening to this like non-stop. I don't know what it is, but this guy's music has gripped me like nothing else the past weeks and never want to let go.

This album is just so fucking good.

I like the CD, don't love it, but I enjoy it.

As awesome as Anesthetize is, I kind of wish they would have foregone the collection of longer songs in favor of more songs. Only three songs really stick out to me here, but it is half of the album, so its good and bad in some ways.

This album is starting to grow on me more now, though i stiull think i prefer in absentia and deadwing to this (i dont own any other PT albums btw) Though each song is pretty good at least, only 2 of the songs really stand out as amazing. The title track is an amazing, catachy, and frantic track, and i'm digging the chorus. And then there's anesthetize, which is just purefuckingawesomeness, i'd say it's my favorite PT song of all time out of the tthree albums i own. The intro is so spacey and awesome, and the mid section is like opeth without the growling.

Where should i go with PT next? Any suggestions for my next buy?

I'd suggest Stupid Dream. That's really the only other Porcupine Tree album I have besides the ones you mentioned. It's a lot more poppy but its still a great record with some great tracks on it. I've also heard a lot of good things about Lightbulb Sun, but sadly, I have not yet had a chance to check it out yet.

Josh, here's a tip - to fully understand Fear of a Blank Planet, miss your anxiety meds for a few days. It becomes much, much more purposeful and absolutely true. It's also a pretty depressing experience, but hey.

...or just go watch the video on YouTube and remember that, due to unfortunate timing, it came out one day before the Virginia Tech. shootings. Excellent video.

So, I'm thinking of covering "Fear of a Blank Planet" and/or "Anesthetize" with my band who thinks this is a good idea give me a 'yay' or 'nay'
