How can Jimmy be original if Zao started before Haste The Day? And if you don't think they sound alike your just lying to yourself unless you're basing it off of Zao's new cd alone.

Again how many times do i have to point out that the singing wasn't unique. I heard Haste The Day before I heard Zao and the first thing I thought once i heard Dan was "wow he sounds a lot like the guy from Haste The Day."

It's an awesome album, the new vocal definitely has a much more powerful roar than the raspy scream of the old vocal.

Let me say something; their new vocalist OWNS live. He screams and sings so freaking well live. Have a nice day.

I hated this album at first, but it's definitely a grower and now I'd say this is their best album album to date. The Minor Prophets & Servant Ties are clear highlights for me, and the new vocalist although I don't think too much of his screaming (a bit generic), his singing is excellent.

As for Jimmy sounding like the guy from Zao - I honestly couldn't care-less because Haste The Day are much better musicians/songwriters nowadays.

Jimmy was better, cuz he gave them a better sound contrast, now they are so melodic, they are just so...Atreyu.

I couldn't stand Jimmy's screams.
Pressure The Hinges was a huge step in the right direction, in my opinion. This Message Edited On 07.29.07

awesome review. i've seen these guys 4 times in the past 18 months (Cornerstone FL '06/'07, tour w/Maylene, Warped) and they always put on a good show
@Hpb: while the actual "singing" is mainly done by the one guitarist and the drummer (brothers btw), the new guy actually does sing. i know for sure he sings on the title track ("turn around agaaaaaaaain...") and on the chorus for "Stitches".
