This is the very top of the heap for progressive and conceptual Metal. You don't get any better than what's going on here. Shame that the band abandoned this path so quickly after. This recording, along with Metallica's Justice and Megadeth's Rust in Peace are probably my three favourite Metal albums of all time. And, they all came out within a span of two years.

I agree, but I'm surprised that Voivod isn't in that Top 3 somewhere with how highly you spoke of them on that list. Do any of their albums have reviews... I'll look.

lol. I was debating which Voivod album to tackle. Maybe even before that I should pledge allegiance to this here recording.

This one is really good, but the Operation: Livecrime CD is even better. The sound is fuller, the drums are more powerful, and it's just heavier all around.

Maybe I'll do Killing Technology or Dimension: Hatross next.

Please do Dimension: Hatross (lol). It was between that, Nothingface and The Outer Limits.

They released an album that would inspire countless of others musicians, be hailed as one of the greatest concept albums ever, and for good reason...

Very true.

Every song here is more or less flawless, although my current top 3 would probably be Eyes of a Stranger, Suite Sister Mary and Breaking the Silence.

Their debut EP is my favourite Queensryche release but this album kicks so much ass even though it was quite different. I guess if I'd been listening to them from Day 1 I would have thought a bit differently

Geoff Tates intro scream in Queen of the Reich is one of the top 10 moments in metal history

Ya it's pretty ridiculous how much of a signature sound they had right from the start.

Saw them about a year and a half ago, was dissapointed as they played mostly Empire and their new stuff
