Regardless of what all you detractors have said, I like this album.

I agree with Liberi, this is not a bad album.

This is one of those albums that grows on you the more you listen to it. I think the review hit it right on the head, but I disagree with some of the Leto-bashing. This band isn't nearly as frontman-obsessed as their counterparts in MCR or U2 (somehow they can sound like both of them... weird?). At least that's the impression I've garnered.
The vid for From Yesterday is indeed weird, but it doesn't even compare to the weirdness factor of "The Kill". Anyone seen that one?

I've heard the first two tracks off here and they were pretty cool.

I don't think the album has grown on me at all. Right from the intro of Attack I found it easy to get into.

I always thought "The Kill" was about an inner struggle, hence the video where everyone faces their double. Or "From Yesterday" was about a man once in power or highly respected that, as he grew older, become isolated. He's seen so much and done so much, but everyone ultimately turns on him? The video seemed to channel that.
But this album has never grown on me. I like Leto, but I like him better when he's acting.

to really understand the video of 'the Kill' you need to watch the film 'Shining' (by Stanley Kubrik starring: jack nicholson in his best role) which you should have done already a thousand times.
the video is more or less a tribute to the film (some may call it a copy)This Message Edited On 03.11.07

Shining. Stanley Kubrick.
It was a good film, but it's not Nicholson's best role to date. Haven't seen it enough times (okay, only once, and I thought it to be overrated) to warrant a comparison, but is there a credible source that says that it's based off it?

I think it's pretty obvious.

like every scene from the video of kill is from that film....the party in the end, the carpet, the girl on the cycle, the two leto's etc.
and yeah at first look the film seems quite overrated, but i bet you havent seen all the hidden things in the scenes yet, there are like 50 things going around in the background of the film, like chairs moving, or the clock changing.
i watched the film in our philosophy class and hell our teacher paused like every 10 sec and said: did ya see that, we: see what?.
and he pointed at something in the background, that wasnt there before/moved and had some significant meaning
most of them indicated jacks madness
this film is something one needs to watch more then 1 time to find its true merit, but i agree, when i watched it the first time rivate i just thought of it as an OK movie

So, uh, yeah, it's not that obvious if I saw it about three years ago. I'm compelled to pick it up again but meh.

There are a few songs that jump out and grab me, and a few that make decent background music. I wouldnt have expected much from Leto so I'm surprised at how this album actually showed heart and had beyond-Pop lyrics. Since the tracks actually differ a bit, a song-by-song would be nice.

This is a very solid album, but a litle more variety wouldn't have hurt though.
