I like this album. I think the only time i understood it was when I listened to it in my headphones before sleep one night.

I just got this recently and its not very impressive. Split Needles is really great but overall the album seems a little boring to me. Red Rabbits is probably the most uninteresting and tedious song on the album.

I'm pretty sure it's "Time to put the earphones on..." Dunno where you got goggles.

But yeah, this is pretty disappointing. Still good, as Australia is a fantastic track, but everything else is too safe.

What I really like about the CD is that it's really solid all the way through. There's only one song I would skip (I think it's the eight, but I'm not sure). On their other CD's I'd always be skipping tracks. So, although it doesn't as many standout tracks as the rest, this is the one that'll be in my CD Player the longest.

Great CD to drive to, as well. My favorite track is Phantom Limb. This Message Edited On 03.09.07

Well written review, but I disagree with your assessment that "When they try to get too complicated, they end up ruining great songs." I feld that the added complexity improved the songs that would otherwise be too similar to their other works.

Heh, can't get over the opening song and just the way it breaks free...

The more often I listen to this album the more I like it. Give it a chance. It takes a while until it unfolds it's beauty. In my top 3 list for this year.

This album is as solid as an album can get. A lot of songs with gentle beauty.

This album it's good, but not something memorable. All the songs are enjoyable, but not great. Not the kind that you remember and visualize a rythim or a note. Something that exists but don't fill any feeling.

this is a solid album, cept for maybe the last two... sleeping lessons is absolutely superb, i don't know why but it always reminds me of elliott s's king's crossing the way it starts soft, peaks really strong and loud, then fades out, absolutely beautiful.

I have a weakness for this band, and I have come to terms with that.

Hey, everyone: It's Spilt Needles.

A Comet Appears is also great. Lyrics are fantastic.
Also, Sleeping Lessons is far better live. This Message Edited On 11.21.08
