How's it going Andrew?
To Shattered Future:
I have a BG tour shirt too. Do you have the one with the ATITM cover or the one with the hooded figure on it? I have the one with the hooded figure on it.
ANATO is one of two albums that I haven't heard much off of by BG. I've heard it's really over the top so I'm sure I would like it. Plus, I've heard Battlefield, And Then There Was Silence, and The Maiden and the Minstrel Knight and they're all amazing. I still need to check out Battallions of Fear because all I've heard off of it was Majesty, which was great. This Message Edited On 01.21.07This Message Edited On 01.21.07

I don't *hate* ANATO, like Eakflanderyof, haven't heard it properly yet.
But I was mentioning the common consensus for comparison.

Wow every sogn on this album is amazing, with the exception of "Carry the Blessed Home" which isnt too bad. Maybe my favorite power metal album right now, i cant stop listening to it.
My personal favorite is "Straight Through the Mirror" the guitar is so fucking awesome in that song, "Fly" is second, and "Lionheart" is third.

My favorite is 'Straight Through the Mirror' as well, everything about it is amazing, especially the guitar bit at 1:50, 'Fly' is also second, but I prefer 'Otherland' to 'Lionheart'.

would this album be a sufficient album if you are a Blind Gaurdian first timer?

I would say yes. It was my first from them, and I loved it...really, really loved it. I listened to basically only that album for about a week or so. There are little flaws on this album.
Then I began looking into their other albums, and this grew off me slightly...but it still is olne of the best power metal releases ever. It's much simpler thyan their other albums, not really their defining album, but not much different than their others, just slightly more accessible.

The first Blind Guardian album that I listened to in full was A Night at the Opera...lol.
I actually wasn't a fan of this at first, but it grew on me fast.
