oh good review, but the album is far far far better than you give it credit for!

Maybe he didn't read the whole review and saw "4/5" and not the inside the genre part.

BTW, that's my favorite part of your review. The inside/outside of genre ratings. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Fantastic review man - finally gave this a listen this week and well... It's a great album, so long as I haven't listened to The Holy Bible beforehand.

A design for life was my first intro to the Manics and what a song, then they put out an album of songs almost as good as it,

Good review,

Not my ultimate fave MSP record but it's still amazing. And they opened Cardiff's new library with a Welsh Male Voice choir singing A Design For Life! How cool is that!

This is my first taste of the Preachers, got it on a whim without realizing it was the first without Richey, so I'll be goin' back and checking out Holy Bible very soon. This is still a pretty slick piece of alt-rock though, glad I decided to give them a spin.

Review was a novel but well done, the background info and history on the band was definitely a must I think with this one

Anyone have any clue WTF the producer or the band were thinking when they recorded, and EQ'd the drums on 'Everything Must Go'? (The song). I can't listen to it anymore..

I hate this album, just could never absorb it. It's overblown, pretentious, cutesy, annoying... it is like the opposite of The Holy Bible, which is one of my favorite albums ever.
