well its not bad, dude. i don't know how eloquent one has to be to review a Ramones cover album, and i am plain spoken in my reviews, anyway...meh...i'm just saying it does reach a "well written" standard, for heavens sake...

When you sound so full of yourself like that its really not that appealing, just to let you know.

i have no idea what you are talking about. and you aren't one to talk if you are being serious. i'm just saying its disappointing that people often neg or posi or leave blank based on whether or not they agree with a review rather then going on the fact of whether it reaches a certain basic standard for effort put in. and that doesn't just go for my reviews, it goes for everyones... I want to hear this, but I wouldn't buy it. Most Ramones seems pretty child friendly to me, but then theres lyrics like ''Im a nazi baby, I'm a nazi yeah yeah yeah!'' or ''Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue'' So I think I child friendly compilation is almost welcome.

I'm pretty sure I come off as joking most of the time, and if not, I mean to. The whole "this is good enough for everyone to pos" attitude is just ridiculous. You have a point, but groveling for pos votes is so review #1-25.

no no no...i wasn't groveling...i never do about that...look at my reviews and you'll see i never mention it unless someone unjustly negs. its just something i noticed in this case because it happens, and the negativity about this album seems to be high. i just notice for instance that my Sonic Youth review got a bunch of posi's because everyone seems to agree. this review, while simpler, got next to none because most seem to disagree. its not personal, its just i never do that, always looking at the review itself. and it kind of bothers me. as said, not just for myself, but other reviewers, too. especially newer ones. i have enough reviews and am confident enough not to be bothered, but it doesn't go unnoticed that some missuse the system....personally i don't like the system of voting, period. This Message Edited On 12.30.06

Bubblegum pop songs done by kids? Seems fitting.

thank you, Neoteric. i think i was first disappointed at how the album was being taken and dismissed by some, and then i thought i simply didn't do a good enough job conveying it, because i didn't understand all the heat. but after reading the review again i think i did a right on job. if you look at the myspace page for this album:

http://www.myspace.com/bratsonthebeat

you will get a further sense of the record, why it was created, and what went into it. especially nice is the comments section where pics are posted of children in ramones gear and parents and such have left comments. also a sampling of the album is available. i like what they've done with this. its a good job, and unfiltered ramones for little ones like my niece who loves her Social D. t-shirt. could have been bad, but what they did and who did it turns out was actually pretty good for its intended purpose. This Message Edited On 12.31.06

Nice review, but I honestly gave this a chance from their myspace page and I cannot enjoy this at all. Oh well.

sweet thanx for sharing the review...
and as a teacher .. but someone without children
i can see the value of this
although it does beg the question of
"just how will the next generation rebel from us?"
i guess thats for them to figure out
peace

The review was decent enough, wasn't at all epic, but how can you expect an epic ramones cover review? Although I thought Ramones were a universal band anyway. Now this does irritate me somewhat, although you state the target audience and the albums general purpose, it is just further commercialising the Ramones far beyond their split and early deaths.

A tall, thin man in a leather jacket WILL be turning in his grave.
