Album Rating: 2.5

For the record: the bitter end sounds like both battary and blackened, with a bitchin solo part.

WHAT?!? You honestly think that they make their cds a half hour long on purpose? If you believe this, then, well, your pretty thick. Its a half hour because they a rrn't mature as songwriters. Its a ripoff man paying 20 bucks for 30 minutes of music, plus you get sick off the album real fast, and CHUCK it out

The albums no 30 min, its 40, which is long enough, if it goes on forever it gets boring.

Why don't you go make a record then, be sure to tell me when it's a 78 minute epic.

Who cares how long it is? so what if its 30 minutes, or 90 minutes, its the quality of the songs, not the lenth.

God, do people not get tuaght anything in schools any more, its always Qaulity over Quantity, not Quantity over quality.

Why hasn't anyone talked about Noots yet? My version of the Album has 14 tracks. The last one being noots. I really like the album, I was expecting more metal from the album. But the Bitter End Rocks (no matter how similiar it is to battery).

alright. first thing. i wouldn't sell out and sign to a label like you probably would, because im into music for the sake of the art. YOU on the other hand are sitting here defending pop music no matter how youl ook at it. sure they've gone "more metallish", but all they did was rip oof other bands and change their pop sound to a new pop sound. there gay videos still play on mtv and are still loved by pubeescent preteen girls. as for making my own "epic" i dont neccesarily care how long the album is, its the song itself, which brings me to the other guys take on "quality over quantity". how can you fit quality into 3 minutes? simply by adding a half deent solo? i think not, the rest of the song is still power chords, scank drum beats and simple bass lines. . you both need to grow up and realize that this is pop music and poop by any other name is still poop.

Most good songs are around 3 to 4 minutes these days, we're long past the days of 20 minute solos in a song, many good songs dont need a solo, you need to be a lot more open minded about things, a 3 minute song can be complex, have good solos, and be generaly a great song all around. And its not pop, its pop-punk, and there not ripping off any other styles, theyve had the same style since "half hour of power" was released.

If you want some good 3 minute songs, then check out bands like Muse.

alright, if you want to push good three minute songs, go for it, but the new sum 41 doesn't have any. also, who said anything about 20 minute solos? were they ever popular, this guy knows nothing about music i guess, but on the other hand he is probably only 11 or 12 if he is sticking up for sum 41

Aye, im 12, becuase i like Sum41, Who cares if they get shown on MTV, most bands do, just becuase i like pop-punk, it dosnt make me 11, im into all kinds of music, esspecial Alt+Indie along with pop-punk, and i like rock and metal too.

I do know about music, other wise i wouldnt play an instrument, and i wouldnt be on a musicians forums.

Im sure we could finish this little desscussion in the pop-punk, where there arnt any 12 year olds, and most like sum41 and stuff, whilst there you could get band too, and even learn how to shouve youre own head in your arse, even though it seems to be up there any way.

sum 41 are the only pop punk band - in my opinion - with balls , they change without giving a **** about the hundereds of pop punkin 10 year olds theyve infatuated and grab a different audience with every album - round of applause for the lads.

Im sure you know lots about marketing too  There musics changing as they grow older, it happens in all bands, if a band produced the same sounding album over and over, then people would get bored, as well as the band, they have to change to keep themselfs interested in the music.

Im appauled that you as a musician couldnt see that.

yes bands do evolve and change over time. and yes i do know about marketing, as i work for an advertising firm (thank you) however, i was only posing the question if they were being directed, because we al know how pop music works, and we all know that it is pop music.
