This could've been a decent bashing review, but it's just a terrible review overall. This should've been left as a soundoff. This Message Edited On 12.10.06

I used to love this album but I've come to feel like this review 100%. Not as extreme, however. These guys could convey their music's entire purpose in one single song but so far they've dragged it out three albums and it's really starting to wear thin. The solos, while awe-inspiring at first, are indeed some of the most self-indulgent I've ever heard outside of a solo guitarist's. The melodies, atmospheres, and structures are all nearly identical. Herman Li improvises all of his solos in the studio and consequently produces some of the most boringly technical in metal. Even he has admitted that many of his solos are identical.

To summarize, I feel just like this review, only less harsh. Definitely not a great album but not pure garbage if you're looking for something poppy and light.

I would have to disagree. =/ He's even named after a power metal band. This Message Edited On 12.10.06

yeah your paragraphs are all bassically the same with different words. You dont really explain why you feel the songs are repeatative. And you never explain why you think its self indulgent or anything like that. Try and work on adding more explanation.

The first song pretty cool, but the rest of the songs try so hard to be that one. It's pretty weak

The guitarist's name is Herman Li not Herman Lee.This Message Edited On 12.10.06

I actually think Sam is the better guitarist of the two. Herman is more proficient with the cool sound effects, but doesn't has the same soulful chops that Sam does.

Dragonforce are horrible. Not because of the music, but because of the delivery. They're obviously decent musicians, but like The Darkness they don't seem to have a passion for what they do. It all seems tongue in cheek to me.

This is a pretty damn good review, especially given its length and even more so for its sheer polarity. I saw DragonForce in concert, and I must say that I don't agree with the opinion presented in this review about the band very much, but I can't deny that it was an interesting read.

How would you define passion?

It's sad, because it looks as though he's just getting negged because he gave it a 1. I thought it was a good review.

It wasnt really a good review. He mentioned how self centered he thought the music was. But these guys are anything but serious people. If you bought the CD like I did u would see pictures of them on the crapper or in thier credits listing the screaming as "evil vocals". I have no problem with different opinions but this review doesnt really provide a good reason for the rating. Keep going though you have a lot of potential.

Granted, this album is repetitive and the vocals are eye socket rape, but honestly, for musical talent alone, this merits more than a 1

This is bullshit. I haven't heard the album, so I can't comment on the rating, but just because the guys can shred, it doesn't mean they can write a good song.

The review became more of a rant than anything by the end. When you trash a popular album like this, you should make your review so solid that negative votes can't be justified.

I like how because this review isn't of the same opinion as all the Dragonforce fans' opinions, it's automatically a bad review. Dumbasses.

I don't like them and honestly it's not a very good review.

Meh, this review was alright. It was at times a bit immature and sometimes not constructed with good arguments, but you did a nice job.

So does this make it officially fashionable to hate this album or was that like a month ago and I missed it?

If so, then I must be the trendsetter

wow

Through the Fire and Flames (the song) was horrible

but body breakdown made the intire album worth while. Try listing to the entire song, and tell me that it isn't pure awsome-ness

Except for mm8, who I really think says it's bad because he disagrees.

Wrong, I negged it because it was a pretty boring read, the jokes weren't funny, it informed me of very little and all in all it seemed really immature and like he just reviewed the album so he had an excuse to bash the band.
