Pale is a janky album and some of it hasn't aged well I think, but for it's time it was amazing and I still jam it every so often. Some of the songwriting is definitely goofy and awkward but that's part of it's charm

This album's a meandering, bland, badly produced mess.

Pale has a few rough edges but that's part of its charm. It was a pretty unique album at time of its release so it gets some tilt from me for treading then-new ground

i'm just a sucker for raw natural production especially for something like this

it's def a certain taste but the contrast of the muddy riffs and the crystal melodies is so cool. and i love how haughm sounds on this. perfectly captures the album cover.

Pale's rough edges are from them practically tripping over themselves from having too many ideas.

Serpent is exactly the opposite imo

I really don't get the praise for this, specially considering how awesome the previous albums were. This is not bad but it's avg for a band like Agalloch imho. Glad so many of you enjoy it though.

my thoughts exactly birb

sry you don't get it Frosty, but it is one of the biggest growers for me. from 3.5 to a 5 over a course of 10 years is huge, but it speaks to the brilliance of this band. trv goats
