"dead by April mix pop, trance and metal A LOT better then these dudes do."
good shout, but i honestly find their song structures to be more predictable and same-y than this. like, Worlds Collide had like 3 songs in a row with borderline the exact same chorus, something that isn't an issue here. in other ways I can definitely see it but the song structures being a bit same-y makes it a little boring at times.

t.a.t.u. has at least 4 songs that I like, unlike this band

Honestly wish DBA would be a little more free flowing with their song structures and had more diverse choices for their hooks. Besides they never flirted with blackgaze Deafheaven-y stuff like I hear on parts of this.

all i know is that aiwaz used to love them and it kinda made me nervous to try to get into 'em cuz, it's crazy enough being called a Snide clone I ain't wanna be called an Aiwaz clone too

Yulia was my first celeb crush so I'm biased
that one didn't age great

aiwaz liked good stuff in spite of everything. but nothing was really particularly "his" artist that you would be called a clone for.

I mean Tool's definitely one of his artists if one of my closest friends is to be believed, so I didn't really wanna admit I was getting super into them. But I like to think Maynard's talking about Aiwaz subconsciously when he said most of his fans are dumbasses.

Aiwaz was a completely tool aye
but yeah, he really DID love them to an unreasonable degree. Complete with all the pseudo-intellectual bullshit that a portion of their fan-base gets a bad rep for lol

i remember very little about aiwaz and thats definitely a good thing

I mean this has nothing to do with what eventually went down (I don’t think) but I just remember him being very into all that Fibonacci sequence shit that’s become a massive meme used to dunk on their fans. He really did put them on a pedestal, like they were of an ascended alien species or something
The fact he turned out to be an unsavoury character was most likely a coincidence, I’m sure

Plot twist: Baseline was just an Aiwaz alt this entire time
Edit: nvm, Aiwaz joined later at a later date. Ah well, carry on
|

Putting Aiwaz and Baseline in the same sentence is a low IQ scene ngl

I gotta appreciate how Vore is practically a Deafheaven song with djent guitars, not quite as good vocals as George Clarke's but still real good
