Idk this album isnt bad but I feel like most people are talking about whether or not songs like Auntie Diaries or We Cry Together are tasteful cause the music mostly isnt very inspired

Like the saddest thing about the new album is that it doesn't seem like Kendrick has much to say anymore

The Rich interlude with Kodak Black rapping over piano is honestly one of my favorites here. I think the ones I enjoy are United in Grief, Worldwide Steppers, Die Hard, Father Time, Rich, Crown, and Mother I Sober. So 7 of 18. I appreciate the messaging of We Cry Together and Auntie Diaries but I do feel both concepts could have been much better executed.

I thought Kendrick was a little goofy at times on the Baby Keem album but I was like “surely he’s just goofing off here and this is nothing indicative of his next release”. There are chunks of this that just come off like underwhelming radio fodder. After the peaks of his career this can’t help but feel hollow.

hollow is a good word for it

Another overly mainstream average album with tons of filler yup. Of course all the dickriders will say it's another goat album lol.

Agree with both of Pheromone's posts thus far. I'm on Purple Hearts and even though I'm kind of enjoying it and the previous song (I also felt the Kim vibes), hollow feels like the right word. I'm just not getting any real emotion or fire behind any of these bars, minus a select few. We'll see how the rest of this goes, but so far it feels very much like he went through the motions. It's still good, but it's not Kendrick good.

My man kinda fell off. New one compared to gkmc and tpab is miles apart in quality. If mr morale was his first album real hip hop heads would pay it no mind. He would be deemed another average radio hip hop artist of today.

I don't know if something planted this idea in my mind or if I just imagined it myself, but I feel like Kendrick could pivot to a rock-ish concept album and succeed. Subconsciously I was sort of hoping that's what this would be, but that's not why it's disappointing --- as others have mentioned, he's simply fallen off big time. Always would have been an impossible task to release nothing but good kids and TPABs your whole career though.

lol i dunno i dig it. It's weird when people put all these expectations on something, it's like... chill out. I never really liked tpab, tbh

Nothing will top the frenzy on here when TPAB was released

Really don't understand how people are this down on the new record, on Savior right now and so far it's been pretty enjoyable.

Jamming now....not gonna taint my opinion but N95 puts the missing verse from "Shaolin Temple" aka Vent

Purple Hearts and Father Time are tracks I immediately came back to this morning. There is some fun stuff on here.
Also no one can say Kendrick didn’t take risks on this. That’s something that almost the entire rap game can’t say they are doing rn.
