Outside of that/mainstream stuff there are some newer acts that either straight-up rip them or are clearly influenced on at least a handful of tracks. Vexes comes to mind. Then an LA band called The Links I've worked with a couple times

The Cure and Deftones are two of my favourite bands. There's an interview on youtube where Davey and Chino just geek out over their mutual love of The Cure, it's so awesome. Davey is the singer of AFI, another band with massive The Cure influences.

3.5 isn’t a great album to me. It’s good/very good.

Also Before Three, Us Or Them or Anniversary which has a very Lucky You vibe.

Ya I love Before Three, one of my favorites on there for sure I just wasn't sure how much of a "tones vibe" it gave off

It just reminds me of the Chino side of Deftones, not the Stephen side.

wow this record really does grow on ye, might bump to a 4.

The cohesion in the latter half is astounding, Gore-PB-Rubicon is a brilliant stretch

Conversely, they could completely cut out Pittura Infamante and Xenon and nothing would be missed, I don’t think I’ve listened to those two tracks since this record came out.

Hard agree man. After Hearts/Wires and before this strech there are some very skippable tracks though

Last 3 trax are some of their best, frankly. Album as a whole is definitely cohesive (to me at least) but just somethin' about that final TRIFECTA, Rubicon especially. Good on them for that one, good on them

Yeah aside from White Pony, this has always felt like their most cohesive album to me.

Koi has always been their most cohesive. That albums flow is unrivaled

And I always have to go with Adrenaline as their worst man, not bad stuff but I never really dug nu metal
