Once I saw a video of Opeth performing Hex Omega. I'm not 100% sure, there's a slight possibility it was Face of Melinda, but my memories claim otherwise, and Mike said before playing the song sth like ''Here's a song you might not want to hear, but we love to play it'' It was weird because it's a friggin' awesome song indeed.

Oh i've seen that; it's definitely Hex Omega and it was during Sonisphere, which was a great set by the way.
I think it's just not what Opeth fans expected back then, so it was met a lot of negativity
