think people have a tendency to put way too much blame on the oline and not enough blame on qbs when it comes to pressures and sacks. pocket awareness is at an all time low and qbs are trying to hold on to the ball longer than ever on regular dropbacks. so many guys's first instinct is to bail the pocket the second they feel pressure. there's a reason why peyton, brees, brady etc always had "amazing olines" while russell wilson and deshaun watson's were somehow perpetually godawful no matter what team they play for
also think people wayyyy overestimate how good an "average" oline is. There are like 25 fanbases at all times who believe they have a below average oline.

i don't disagree but o-line play has absolutely been in decline. it goes back to high school and college. almost everyone runs some flavor of spread now and pro style stuff is going extinct. that requires more finesse and less power from lineman. so much stuff in college is one read schemed up stuff, especially stuff like the veer and shoot which requires quick decision making but not much hold from lineman to be successful.

not a single QB has a >3 second time to throw on average in the NFL right now
|
| |
yeah think its decently likely in 10-20yrs we'll look at the 2010s as the golden age of qb play
also just learned that the taylor swift subreddit does game threads for every chiefs game. all the comments are whining about kelce not getting enough targets lmao

the taylor swift overexposure is so annoying, its why I avoid Chiefs games at this point (in addition to Romo's constant Mahomes glazing). I dont need to see her fake-ass overreactions every time Kelce does ANYTHING. The NFL must be paying her money under the table to be there and ham it up.

people have been saying this every year but he might really be washed finally.

Album Rating: 2.0
I mean yeah he's def washed but my conspiracy theory was that he planned to retire after this past season but the NFL contacted him and are either paying him on the side or promising major endorsement opportunities to play one more year so that the NFL can rake in all the pub from Swift because they see it as a huge new-fan opportunity, despite the reality that none of the Swifties are watching the NFL for the actual game.
|
| |
nah kelce isn't washed he's just coasting. dude completely dominated last year's playoffs after his down year last year.
wouldn't surprise me if its partially systematic on the chiefs end. kelce has been the only constant on a team that goes through skill position players like toilet paper for years now, gotta keep him healthy for when it matters. gotta let the other guys build chemistry with mahomes before the playoffs start.
after last season i just refuse to take any issues with the chiefs seriously until they're still issues in the playoffs.
