its the second time in a week someone has claimed kdot sells out and by golly i would f u c k i n g love to see a well constructed argument as to how in fact he sold out

please do not say "because he sells a lot of albums" because that is not selling out, that is simply a reflection of people willing to spend their money to listen to an artist and is the goal of any artist across any field of art that sells their art for profit (including your favorite band or whatever)

Sell out doesn't mean anything. It's one person's reading of a situation they are so far removed from it's absurd.

"can't believe how much critical acclaim this has gotten"

I can believe it

people were dying for this album and any half-decent release from Kendrick by that point would have been deemed some form of "album of the year"

i mean when say for instance a band completely changes their artistic direction towards material aimed for a more massive audience and does things like sell that music for tv commercials and that sort of stuff i might consider that selling out

kendrick put out a highly abrasive at times difficult borderline protest album around a concept about the current state of racism in america

it's literally the furthest thing he could have done from selling out

By riding pc train, he got this critical acclaim. Thats my definition of being sellout.

this album is like the opposite of a sellout album

like if this was his debut, and good kid was his sophomore release, good kid would seem like a complete sellout in comparison.

also this album is def not pc. so ur just dumb af.
