Hilarious coming from someone who gave Clayman a 4.5.

If it is new, that should have been the case a long time ago. Terrible album.

Clayman is pretty good, imo. Not a huge In Flames fan, but Subterranean & Jester Race - Clayman are all top tier melodeath.

Subterranean/The Jester Race was the only time they ever actually performed at a high level. Otherwise, a lot of what they did, even in the '90s, was underwhelming. Easily the nadir of Gothenburg.

Fair enough, I suppose. I don't love melodeath in general but always considered the era I mentioned to be the bar for other bands at the time.

i don't even really listen to in flames anymore but that album is still pretty widely accepted as great and it was an important album for me growing up so whatever lmao

Gave this a spin today on the way in to work. Still as sublime as it ever was. How could Chuck ever top this?

Smashing review, Atari.
