honestly to me ashes hits that spot for me. to me this is more of a soundtrack for, like, early march when the snow is starting to melt but it's still cold and dark outside



actually with agalloch in general i have the soundtrack for each subseason of winter: mantle for late fall/early winter, ashes for midwinter and marrow for late winter which coincidentally or not is their chronological order of release as well
