Literally I have the most injured roster in the NFL right now. Kupp out. Nacua out. Half my o-line out. Fuck everything. I give up

At least the niners and the cowboys (LOL) lost too.

Vikings somehow 2-0. Don’t really care about football that much. Also, this album still blows

This was a weird and frustrating Sunday to watch. Since I don't really have a team yet (mostly sliding towards the Lions), Lions, Ravens, Rams, 49ers, Cowboys and Jaguars were the ones I was keeping an eye on.. hmm yep.
|
| |
this was one of the weirdest weeks in recent memory
the past couple years were quietly trending this way but its become un-ignorable this year.... defenses are fucking BACK baby.
of the 28 teams who played yesterday... only 14/28 scored more than 20+ points, and just 2/28 over 30+. we had a whopping 4 games yesterday where neither team scored 20.

Lmao that is insane but I do not trust the Saints one bit

i think its kinda both
it seems like almost every single defense has at least one elite pass rusher these days... and schematically, nearly all defenses have switched back to playing cover 2 and daring offenses to run the ball. some offenses are able to take advantage (lions, niners especially) but a lot of them really can't due to neither having the oline talent nor a sophisticated enough gameplan
speaking of oline talent... it feels like we are at an all time low right now. less and less college and high school offenses run pro-style offenses at this point so by the time these oline players enter the nfl they're learning an entirely new sport.
and lastly... this is just straight up the worst league wide quarterback talent we've had in a long time.
to put into perspective: matt stafford in 2024 is pretty comfortably a top 10 qb. one could argue the best qb in the nfc even. in 2014, when stafford was the same if not prob better than he is today... can you confidently say he was top 10 in a league with qbs like brady, manning, brees, rodgers, big ben, rivers, matt ryan, andrew luck, prime-russell wilson, cam newton, tony romo??? not to mention guys like flacco, eli, and kaepernick who just came off super bowl runs. or nick foles coming off a season where he threw 28 TDs and only 2 INTs.
does anyone today besides mahomes / allen / lamar break into that top 10???

I think my takeaway is pain
I know it’s a long season but seeing so many injuries hurts my soul

id put Baker and Geno over Stafford in the NFC but yeah QB play is pretty bleak
My wife has a cousin who is an OL at IMG Academy with offers from all of the top colleges. We are praying he stays healthy and goes to a top school because if he is even average he is going to get a major bag.

our beautiful game is dead. but really qb play is just not great and vult you're right o-l play is absolutely atrocious across the league. is there even 5 elite lines? i would only consider mahomes and allen elite qbs. prime ryan, rivers, ben, brees are better than burrow and lamar. we had a golden age and it's gone. sad.
college ball stays winning in entertainment :^)
