CDs are a trash format, if something is worth buying physical its gotta be record or cassette.

Damn, missed the philosophy chat. Will have to settle for saying album rules another time.

Nothing beats a CD in a good car stereo

Sold all of my hundreds of cds years and years ago. Cant believe I wasted so much money on the worst music format ever made aside from hit clips
|

Yeah cds are good for the whip but that's literally it and you might as well just burn em at that point

Yeah I do 80% of my music listening in my car CD player at full blast.
Other 20% is on Spotify with my air pods at home.

Seems to be a popular opinion, and while I obviously love it since I 5’d the album, it’s not one of the standouts for me. But man, it does fucking slay minutes 9-12.

Also — that 3.8 average is too low. This is at LEAST as good as 10k, though I think it’s actually better.

That rating is expected considering half the userbase had this at 1 two years before it was even released

I buy CDs but mostly ones that are out of print now - often the only way to get a copy of that album
Basically the sort of stuff people can only find on soulseek otherwise
I've run out of space for physical and digital music now tbh, nearly 2000 CDs and 17,500 songs so I delete downloads to make room for anything new in itunes now - it's saving me £200 a month not purchasing any/ very little music now.
I just pay for Spotify.

Yes!!! CDs for life man. I still remember my first CD back in 7th grade — L7 Bricks Are Heavy. I was so hyped when I got my first CD player.
Benkim — I agree it’s not surprising but it’s still too low. I honestly had no IDEA Tool had such a backlash of haters against them until I came to sput. I thought they were a revered and respected leader in music.

Yeah they're expensive, agreed. I think I've got 1800 CDs right now, and space is becoming a problem. But they look so nice and on places like Discogs or at fairs you can get them pretty cheaply so it's fine by me.

Waiting for a CD revival so I can buy vinyl as cheap as you can buy cds nowadays.

CDs are the easy pragmatic way to backup your collection in a physical way. I handle them as a foundation. If I love an album, I'll buy vinyl additionally to fully enjoy it. Maybe an expensive approach, but I mostly buy stuff that's 4.5 or 5 with exception to some 4s.

I mean if you handle more stuff sure, I back up my collection on a hard drive

I also back up stuff on hard drive but if you have stuff backed up for five years and never play it...at that stage you do question why you’re keeping a lot of shit.
Esp if it’s mainstream stuff you can stream anywhere
