I hate to say it, but the writing was on the walls this entire time. We're talking about a guy who ruthlessly bloodies his forehead and becomes a complete lunatic every time he performs, has scars covering his entire torso, has written songs like "The Fuck Whisperer", and has a long history of sex/alcohol abuse. He has obviously been mentally unstable for a long time, with seemingly no desire to better himself.

Man, that was hard to read. I tend to try and separate the art and the artist as well, but sometimes it's just too difficult to do so; this is sadly one of those times

@johnny what i'm tryna get at is that when we see cases like this our minds tend to portray abusers as this evil monsters full of hatred and stuff, like they have a goal, a mindset, a twisted sense of morality and ethics. when it's more usually the case that they're just apathetic, fundamentally uncaring about anything other than themselves, which obviously reflects on their abuse of other people, but their apathy tends to extend to art, philosophy, ethics, etc. Most of these psychos are often times dumb as hell. So the fact that the lyricism comes out as shallow and simple makes sense, since to actually put thought and reflect about complicated stuff other than who to fuck next and how to gaslight your loved ones is impossible for anyone like this.

Can’t say I’ll never listen to this band again, just like I still listen to Brand New and Crystal Castles. I make sure they never get any money from me by ripping CD’s into my library rather than directly streaming, but I can’t just throw away music that means a lot to me. It’s easier said than done. That being said, if they continue on I won’t be supporting them

@jay Its easy now to say 'welllll look at his past we should have known' I don't think that's he right way to be though or you rule anyone out from ever bettering themselves. Of course hindsight backs that up but Just as KH believed he was trying to sort himself with rehab and 12 step programmes and Im sure the band where too, they had spoken about it when getting back together. The man is clearly a fuck up and a horrific,abusive person and you only get so many shots at redeeming but you can't draw a line under everyone solely because of their past fuck ups years ago, especially some wacky onstage antics and a couple of times he's gone too far or being an ex addict. Especially if they are (what turned out to be lies) admitting they're fucks up and actually trying to be better. Seems he wasn't , doing that at all. And his 'past' was abusing multiple woman but that wasn't all public, a lot was just rumours of him being a bit of a dirtbag years ago but not to this extent.

As a guy who has been legitimately suicidal and has attempted to take his own life before (im on waitlist for getting help dw), it's actually SO obvious and clear as day to me he was bluffing. All his suicide threats were just another abuse/manipulation tactic to bend her to his will.

Actual suicidal people don't try to use suicide as a means to blackmail shit from others, at least not unless they have a prior history of being a POS

Suicidal people don’t inform others of their suicidal intentions, nor would they use it as leverage or blackmail. I didn’t tell anyone, and never have I brought it up to use against someone. Alexis doesn’t have the bollocks to do that, people like him think too highly of themselves. He’ll crawl away into a hole somewhere and never be heard from again. Also, no matter how bad of a person he is, let’s not wish death upon him. Punishment yes, but no one deserves to want to be dead. Not even him
