Yes, "least emo(ish)" album, as in less whiny, more brutal. Their old sound is more emo imo (I dunno, maybe there's a better word for it...). AWLWLB is actually a bit like that too, but in a more commercial way. Trying to be too emotional and deep takes away from the cathartic brutality. In other words, I prefer enraged Converge over distressed/whiny Converge, even though both are pretty great.

Jane Doe indeed combines both in genius fashion, but Jane Doe is Jane Doe. The Broken Vow in particular really does both well, but it's still borderline too emo with some of the vocals (fortunately though, it still stands the test of time). That's why Axe to Fall is slightly better for me.
