Most I've been is 228 lb, was the strongest I've ever been, but definitely got soft around the edges if you know what I mean. 'Twas the only way I could get my bench to three plates tbh. Now that I'm older and don't care as much about strength (overall), I try to hover around 195-215 lb, that's where I have the best balance between functional strength and aesthetics.

Didn't one of the releases have a closing track that was just fifteen minutes of ambient outdoor noise? lol classic Slint.

This page makes me wanna hit the gym today. I'm down to 210, and I'm in pretty good shape. But I've skipped too many leg days and am starting to look like Joe from Family Guy.

perfect time for a page break lol

How do you all know how much you weigh? I have no idea myself, probably not a right lot considering I ran 80-odd miles last month. I also get awful acid reflux so eating large quantities is difficult. I certainly don’t look underweight though (my wife would definitely tell me if I did).

I imagine this would suck pretty badly as a ‘workout’ album, where did the convo even come from 😄.

I fucked up my knee about two years ago, falling down the steps in my house (wooden steps with socks on lol), partial tear in my quad and it was the most painful shit ever. even once it started to heal and i got back into the gym, i couldn't squat shit without it hurting again.

Since that time, I stopped doing squats and started strictly doing leg press as my major leg lift and it has been a game changer. Much easier on my knees - even with perfect squat form, I'm a lanky bastard with long legs and a short torso and it puts added stress on my joints. No such problems with leg press (at least not yet). And because it's a more isolated exercise compared to barbell squats, my quads are actually bigger now than they were when i was squatting.

You really only need to squat if you plan on squatting in powerlifting comps. Otherwise leg press is superior. Twenty-four year old me would've vehemently disagreed, but thirty-one year old me is all about longevity.

@tect: I was being a bit silly, but yeah I never use scales tbh. The only reason to use them is if you’re concerned about your weight, which thankfully I’m not (these days). I don’t want to start any unhealthy obsessions.

Of course if you’re actively monitoring such things due to dieting, or for sports related reasons then I get why you’d keep an eye on such things. Guess I just didn’t know it was such common practice.

Definitely don’t get on the scales. I’m still recovering from the shock.

"Reichy how do you have trouble eating? Just specific stuff or a physical problem with it? Allergies, reflux and what have you?"

yea man all of the above. im gluten intolerant, have IBS which may be crohn's disease, and am slowly becoming lactose intolerant. I used to be able to eat whatever and drink whatever and bulked up to 190 and was tossing shit around in the gym. as a 26 year old I just have trouble with how busy life is to diet the way I need to to keep up w/gains. so ive plateaued very hard. now with gyms being closed a lot of my gains have evaporated due to doing too much cardio and not enough consistent weight training. plus I just cannot get enough bulk/calories. when gyms and the doctor are open again id like to get my IBS sorted and on a diet so I can get up to 200+

yea man my allergies are as bad if not worse than my ibs. after all the shots and meds my doctor gave me the Tuberculosis advice and said move to a dry mountain climate. so here I am, haven't had allergies since. BUT if I drop below 10000 feet I am sick 9 months out of the year. mine are that bad. have you ever itched your eyes so much you had to go to the ER because you scratched your cornea?
