To a black metal elitist this is probably equivalent to unblack metal in terms of untrveness. This is a complete subversion of the second wave sound, and that really messes with people that only want bm to be inside the same tiny box for eternity instead of branching out.



That, and the whole "this could totally pass for screamo and not metal at all," thing. That also probably really gets under some skin.
