White Pony definitely took the longest for me too, and now it's arguably my favorite album. This album grew off me substantially after a few months. Around The Fur and S/T were the only ones to really hit me first listen.

deftones + dream pop is good in small doses. but if i want a ton of that stuff i'd just listen to team sleep. 'tones needs the heavy shit as well

I would say that Diamond Eyes is the most basic! But it's probably my least favourite album you know.



I really don't get the praise for it, can someone explain to me what they think is special about it?



I mean Diamond eyes,CMND/CTRL,Sextape and Rocket Skates are classics but the rest seem so forgettable and dull to me.

^ Diamond Eyes is amazing. Royal, You've seen the butcher , Prince, Risk are all exceptional tracks. This place is death is probably the only weak point, but it's still not a bad song.



Also I didn't exactly mean "basic" when talking about KNY . There's obviously a lot of stuff going on. KNY is a great album that works as a whole. All songs just work as one unit, you know like a giant song instead of 11 different ones, which is showcased by the production. The album as a whole is very cohesive. However separately the songs just don't stand out as much ( with a couple of exceptions of course ). The writing isn't as strong as usual either, since I think this is Chino's worst album lyrically speaking. (Compared to the other deftones albums)

I still like it and it's a great album so yeah.

really every track on there is great, i just like those marginally better than the rest

sometimes i pretty much feel like it & this one are my top 2 albums of theirs

@Log S. Just because I feel a lot of the songs were done better on previous albums doesn't mean they aren't still enjoyable or not worth checking out. Not to mention the fact a lot of new fans started off with DE or KNY.
