"i cannot stress this enough: romantic dreams is the worst thing deftones have ever done. ever. if they make a song worse than it it would contend for my top 10 shittiest songs of all time."
i don't get this even a little bit
if romantic dreams is a band's worst song they must be the best of the last quarter-decade

Guys...
I don't think I like Doomed User. Can't get into it after 8 listens. P/T was good tho so new album will be at least a 3.5.

You guys are insane, romantic dreams is fine

doomed user and p/t will sound better in the context of the album
its funny seeing that the people that dont like p/t really liked doomed user, and the people that didnt like doomed user really liked p/t. gonna be an interesting album

Doomed user is amazing, I don't know what people are talking about. If anything P/t was the more meh one. It's too repetitive for me.

Doomed User sounds kind of basic for Deftones, especially compared to what they sounded like on this album.

I would argue that KNY is the most "basic" Deftones. It's a great album, don't get me wrong but it's a bit generic by Deftones standards.

Rosemary has become one of my favorite Deftones tracks to date though

I wouldn't really say anything on this album is "generic" or "basic". Maybe Romantic Dreams but even that's a bit of a reach.

i don't see this as basic deftones at all, if anything that honor would go to Diamond Eyes, & i love that record
this is porbably they're most cohesive thing since White Pony, if not more so, & prob the most consistent delve into "dream pop" territory since SNW (again, if not even more than that album)

Funny that you mentioned it, since Romantic Dreams is one of my favorite songs off the record. Rosemary is great too. It just grew off me pretty quickly. Normally with a tones record it would take some time for me to get into it and the songs to start clicking. However with this one I kinda instantly liked them and after a while they started getting boring.
The production here is amazing though.

The only Deftones album that I fell in love with first listen was Diamond Eyes, probably since it's their most accessible/basic album like Log S. said.

Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree I guess .
The s/t was the only one which was a love at first sight for me.
KNY I liked but not as much. DE took me a while, but WP was the hardest one to click.

WP took up until i finally decided to skip back to school on spotify.
then the album clicked right away.
this and kny are their most accessible, but s/t and snw grow to become larger than it
ATF is pretty easy to digest too

'but WP was the hardest one to click.'
Ha, thought I was the only one. Once I got WP to click after jamming ATF and Adrenaline for a couple months, I instantly went out and bought their last four albums and they have been probably my favorite band ever since. Deftones is how I discovered sputnik too.
