This has nothing to do with hardcore punk, either. "it sounds like Envy, tho!!!" is not a valid argument in that regard.

Doesn't have "the feel" of dm at all idk where you're getting that. Whatever floats your boat though.

pretty good album to threaten the broads to isn't it Hawks
|

I think. idk tho

Probably because the twinkly trademarks outweigh the metal trademarks.

"Sunbather hits me emotionally more than any other album that I have ever listened to. You can feel the pain with every
scream that comes off of the record. But the best thing that Sunbather has managed is finding a way to make a hopeful
shoegaze/death metal album. I love any artist that can mix more a handful of genres together at the same time, and
Deafheaven do it without a sweat."
I feel you. I think most don't appreciate because of the distorted sound of the shoegaze, which they did flawlessly.
Shoegaze/black metal/post-rock is too much for those indie hipsters

I just find it funny. The band is shoegaze/black metal/post-rock but all the guitar chords are all the same and the vocals are
unrecognizable and blend in... Have you not heard shoegaze? It's distorted guitar with unrecognizable vocals? If everything
was clear then they wouldn't be who they are. Album is flawless

BrushedRed I think everyone knows what shoegaze is you fucking asshat and it's not defined by "distorted guitar with unrecognizable vocals." Some people just don't really care for this album and it's not because it's not "clear." This album is squeaky clean compared to plenty of black metal anyway

Uh Brushed, hate to break it to you but this band is constantly labeled a hipster group and is demonized by *metal* elitists for not being black metal enough. So you've got it backwards there, in that hipster kids like this kind of "unrecognizable" "distorted" bs. Shoegaze was a totally hipster genre in the beginning, wasn't it?

What are these HIPSTER creatures you speak of?

Used to be probably-snotty musical elitist nerds that listened to bands were obscure and would say
stuff like "I like [band name], you've probably never heard of them." Kids that listened to obscure
stuff just so they could say they listened to stuff nobody'd heard of. Now it's just a clothing style
for kids that like weird indie rock or w/e.

That's the way it should be.
