Entombed is probably their best song tbh

I don't know if it's their best, but it's definitely a favourite of mine. The ending of that song is incredible.

my favorite is Hexagram which I will concede is not quite their best. I'd say that imo Digital Bath is probably objectively their best song

Agreed. "Digital Bath" is a career-defining song for them.

I'd go with Pink Maggit or Rosemary probs

I think my favourite is probably "What Happened to You?", but it's really hard to pick one. Their are amazing songs on all of their albums.

Dunno if I could pick a favorite track, I have a hard time picking a favorite anything. There might be some things that I generally like more than others, but even the things I think I enjoy the most are not always what I'm in the mood for. Kinda why I stopped rating albums, I don't think I could really justify a number rating that I put on an album.

Whenever i introduce someone to Deftones I usually show them Digital Bath or Change. Arguably their 2 quintessential tracks, although they don't really showcase the bands heavier side.

That's the best way to show off Deftones tbh. Their heavier stuff is done similarly well by plenty of bands but their softer and more experimental sides are what makes them special.

Exact opposite ^
Loads of bands do breathy experimental alternative-y post-rocky stuff
Very few bands do sado-sexy groove metal like the 'Tones

i think they master both sides, so i usually play one of each to my friends.

Thats probably because 'sado-sexy groove metal' isnt a thing. Name one of their songs that fit that description

Yeah i guess you could call it that. To be fair /(all styles of) Deftones have a unique flavor, even though they appear ostensibly to play fairly generic rock/metal

generic ? nah.

I agree with Doof, I prefer the heavier side of the band. Having said that they really nailed the softer, dreamier side on this, but on other albums such as Gore they didn't'.

but White pony and snow are probably their best material and their softest

White Pony is still really heavy in parts though.

So is SNW. I would argue Gore is their softest release.
