All of these new songs seem strangely accessible for Meshuggah, not a bad thing btw.

^^ good call. Ive seen quite a few folks that have heard the whole record say the album on one hand is maybe the most accessible shuggah. But somehow at the same time it's one of their more complex records.

Citation might be needed on that one.

Agree for the two first singles, yeah. Accessible Shuggah is not at all a bad thing to me, they perfectly understand how to keep it interesting at the same time. Rational Gaze, Cyanide Christ, Straws, Demiurge, Bleed are good examples of that.

Accessible meaning it's not catch 33. Its still meshuggah. New album/singles are more in line with obzen and koloss. Slightly more streamlined but still keeping that complexity they are known for

Oh man yes. Super lovely. And pretty melodic for them as well, this track. Something I wished they would experiment with this time. Hype!

"And that’s the feeling you have with only singles released? Sounds like you’ll be in my camp when it drops in April. Back half samey drag incoming"

The Abysmal Eye is the one i liked the most, even if it wasn't super impressive still very solid, but these later singles aren't doing much for me unfortunately

Perhaps it takes time to feel the groove. To let it overtake you. Or to experience the entire album.

Perhaps.

Time will tell.

I’ve already had a couple weeks with the album and it’s not improving on my feelings for it; especially that back half. The singles are stronger out of that context .

Hmmmm, that's a pity. On the other hand, we seem to have different levels of enjoyment for Meshuggah in general, so who knows!

Both LTSF and I Am That Thirst have a riff that is very similar to the t/t here
