I was coincidentally jamming this again (well maybe because it keeps getting bumped actually) and in the meantime voila, we have lift off guys!

God I wish the low key improv section wasn’t so low key, quiet and overlong but this is just so good
|
| |
Now go jam In the Wake of Poseidon which is also really good

If the middle section of Moonchild is too long, the Wilson remaster cuts it down to mine minutes instead of twelve. Both are fine and really, it's relaxing. A very embryonic improvisation from a band who had yet to master that aspect of their performance (mainly bc this lineup wasn't suited for it).

It was a logical progression from Larks II, as Red was to Fracture, yeah

Yeah Moonchild is overlong for me as well, maybe the only real noticeable blemish on this.

It was interesting to hear songs from Lizard on the last tour. I'm putting this in this thread rather than the Lizard one because it seems to be more active.

KC has a solid following, so regardless of the album, it'll be noticed

Finally had a chance to listen to In the Wake of Poseidon now that it's on Spotify. Album absolutely rips. Yeah, it's a little similar in both album/song structure to this, but I still think it achieves a significantly different tone overall. I prefer it to Lizard, and with repeated listens it might even surpass Red. Too early to tell, though. Currently at 4.0, on the edge of 4.5.
