genesis is still honestly a bottom tier track for me , the intro made me roll my eyes the first time i heard it bc it seems like they’ve done that a billion times already , and i don’t find the ~heavy riff~ satisfying or engaging or heavy rly , the only time i feel like i wanna hear it is the last time they do it. it’s so apart from the rest of the album bc the other songs all kind of take turns and while more straightforward songs are necessary , they kind of resorted to a format of theirs that i don’t find super appealing in the core of my long time love for them. ohms is a much better single 4 me. ceremony is the best song still structurally and melodically and vocally probably , tho the second half of error is truly S tier for them. may rate in like 2 years idk

Alright put this back at a 4.5 because I basically like all the songs and there are a few - Urantia, Error, Pompeji, and Radiant City - that really put it up there for me.

Prob already been brought up in the last 89 pages that I haven't been present for but Zach Hill apparently contributed the SNAPZ on maths

i like everything else except pompeji is a weird one where the more creative ideas earn it a slot above the relatively straight forward genesis which i do enjoy, but there are parts of pompeji that i do not like at all (like the chorus) so it teeters there

butt.

for some reason this reminds me of when Ed Edge had a triangle feature on that Horse the Band song
