Final Cut and Division Bell aren't bad but they just don't hit very hard compared to the Big 3. If I was the Floyd I'd be terrified to follow up an album streak like that.

Floyd had a fascinating development. It's kind of a shame they never released any studio stuff post-TDB. But it was prob for the best.

Saw this ranking online, what do you guys think?:

I'm glad they didn't finish their career with A Momentary Lapse of Reason. The Division Bell is a great final album and High Hopes is up there with my favorite Floyd songs.

Gilmour's approach to guitar was revolutionary, and even today, no guitarist has equalled his degree of feeling. Many have attempted to come close though, but to say that anyone has equalled Gilmour's feeling or tone is about as silly as saying that anyone has replicated Iommi's riff vibrato, which hasn't been achieved to this day.

Gotta disagree with you there danny. He wasn't really that revolutionary he just played with an incredible amount of emotion and feeling, which is far more important than being innovative or revolutionary anyway if you ask me. I think there are other guitarists who play with as much feeling as Gilmour and it's certainly not silly to say that others have equalled his tone and level of emotion. In fact a lot of the guitarists that spring to mind that in my opinion play with as much (or more) feeling as Gilmour actually came about before him and surely had some influence on his playing.

I personally think that no one rivals Peter Green when it comes to expressing emotion through guitar playing, even Gilmour is quite a way off.

honestly if you take Dogs off animals its pretty average for Floyd, Sheep got old for me after like the 5th replay and Three Little Pigs is more of a cool concept less brilliant music

Stop saying "opinions" or a variant of such a stupid excuse every time you lose or are on the verge of losing an argument.
