"Favorite moment is the righteous riff that pops up in the middle of one of the middle tracks of the album. But then... that's kinda what this album is about so prob not helpful LOL"
I'll bet a slurpee it's 7:37 into In Fiction

Let's see... I'm looking, that's third track. That sounds right but I'll double check.

No, that's not it, but that's an awesome riff nonetheless, and that's definitely the right song. The one I was recalling is the Righteous Riff starting around 5:32 in In Fiction.

My neighbours were listening to this today, whether they wanted to or not
Seeing them live would have been life affirming - that will always be one of my deepest regrets (not being born a few years earlier)

not you, I didn't --
you know what, fine, you can have a slurpee too
I believe this album cover is blue raspberry flavor

Blue raspberry is a fine flavor. I do love the cover image, and it fits the title so well. That Foucauldian theme of the beauty and terror of omnipresent surveillance...

Has anyone ever answered watermelon?

I take it watermelon represents oceanic? I prefer that overall by a whisker although this has a few taller peaks with the end of so did we, in fiction and grinning mouths but we’re splitting atoms
Side note its amusing how Aaron became civilised over the years from savage growling on mosquito control, Red Sea and celestial to amelodic bellowing on oceanic to melodic shouting on this to decent singing on absence and wavering radiant

and then back to shouting on SUMAC and Old Man Gloom

he quit pot somewhere around Absence. you'd think the angry parts would be after he stopped being fuzzed out during recording.

I can’t believe how many works of art were inspired by or created under the influence of whacky baccy and I know people who smoke everyday and hold down jobs as managers and shit meanwhile I can barely even tie my shoelace and would often get crippling anxiety (so I haven’t done it since Amsterdam 2016)
I guess you’ve gotta learn your limit and for some of us it’s basically zero

Something uncanny just played out
I was feeling like shit all day laying around with the early signs of a flu, then as the clock struck midnight I got a wave of godlike energy so I drove to the gym and somehow I was able to lift a good 25% heavier than I ever have before, I mean I maxed out all of the machines and was able to curl a 40kg dumbell despite also getting only 4 hours last night and barely eating today.
I was looping the end of grinning mouths and I felt like I could walk through walls and wrestle a grizzly bear into submission
Maybe later down the road I'll realize this was my first manic episode and I destroyed my joints

I thought the 2017 show was pretty good, but that could have been because Inquisition set a low bar as opener.

The last black metal show I saw was Alcest who isn’t even black metal, he put on a pretty mesmerising performance then afterwards I had a rather strained conversation with him - I don’t think banter is his strong suit. Same with lil ugly mane actually he was really sullen or maybe he was just gassed after the show
